Stage 1, The Way of Lighthouses
Malpica is the starting point of the Camiño dos Faros and the beginning of ‘A Costa da Morta’. In this stage the route runs along sandy paths, asphalted tracks, trails and all this with climbs and descents that will make this section a great experience for mountain biking. There are three lighthouses to be discovered on this day. The first can be seen in the distance on the Sisargas Islands as you pass the San Adrián viewpoint. After 22 km the Punta Nariga lighthouse awaits, the most modern lighthouse in Galicia, which is surrounded by unique rocky forms. Following the coast, the route leads to the beautiful and quiet ‘Praia de Niñóns’ and then continues to the Faro do Roncudo lighthouse. Here the sea beats strongly and makes this place the perfect enclave for the prized barnacles that make Corme the capital of Barnacles.
